SKU: KAMPI-XB-NA Category:

Heading up to Sossusvlei, the Fish River Canyon or the Skeleton Coast with the caravan in tow? The Kampi Namibia cross-border sticker kit gets your rig border-ready without a last-minute scramble at a petrol station in Noordoewer. It carries the country marking and reflective tape Namibia expects to see on a South African vehicle and trailer, with a plain-language guide on exactly where each piece goes.

What is in the kit

  • ZA country identifier oval (white, SADC standard) for the rear of the rearmost vehicle.
  • Amber side reflective tape for the caravan body.
  • White front and red rear reflectors for the trailer.
  • Printed fitment and placement guide.

Where each sticker goes

On the towing vehicle

  • Run a short white reflective strip on each side of the front bumper and a red strip on each side of the rear bumper.

On the caravan or trailer

  • ZA oval: rear, on the right-hand (driver’s) side, at least 150 mm clear of the number plate. When you tow, the ZA oval belongs on the trailer, because that is now the rearmost vehicle.
  • Amber reflective tape along the sides of the caravan body, with white reflectors facing forward and red reflectors facing rearward at the widest points.

How to fit your stickers

  1. Clean and dry the panel with soapy water, then wipe with a little methylated spirits so the adhesive grips.
  2. Fit in mild shade, not full Kalahari sun: the vinyl sits flatter and the glue cures better between 15°C and 25°C.
  3. Peel slowly, lay one edge down first, then smooth from the centre outwards with a cloth or squeegee to push out air bubbles.
  4. Press the reflective tape and ovals down hard for 30 seconds and leave them 24 hours before a wash or a long highway run.

Do not forget to carry

  • Reflective warning triangles: the regional rule is two, and four when you are towing. Add a pair below if you still need them.
  • Reflective safety vests: sensible to keep in the cab for roadside stops. Add a set below.
  • Third-party insurance and the cross-border road charge are paid at the border (roughly R220 for the vehicle plus R140 for the trailer or camper).

Please read before you travel

Border requirements change without notice and enforcement differs from one post and one official to the next. This kit and guide are put together in good faith from current travel sources, but they are guidance, not legal advice. Confirm the rules for your route with the relevant roads authority or your border post before you leave, and carry your vehicle licence, registration papers and a police clearance where required.
