SKU: KAMPI-XB-ZW Category:

Vic Falls, Hwange or Mana Pools? Zimbabwe runs the strictest vehicle-marking checks in the region and the road blocks are real, so it pays to arrive already compliant. The Kampi Zimbabwe cross-border sticker kit carries the reflective tape and T-signs that officers look for on a South African vehicle and trailer, with a guide on exactly where each piece goes.

What is in the kit

  • ZA country identifier oval for the rear of the rearmost vehicle.
  • Diamond-grade red and white reflective tape for the bumpers.
  • T-signs for the trailer: one white, one red.
  • Printed fitment and placement guide.

Where each sticker goes

On the towing vehicle

  • White reflective strips on the left and right of the front bumper.
  • Red reflective strips on the left and right of the rear bumper.

On the caravan or trailer

  • ZA oval: rear, right-hand side, at least 150 mm clear of the number plate.
  • T-sign (white) front right, T-sign (red) rear right.
  • Red reflective strips on the rear; add an amber side strip if the vehicle and trailer together are 8 m or longer.

How to fit your stickers

  1. Clean and dry the panel with soapy water, then wipe with a little methylated spirits so the adhesive grips.
  2. Fit in mild shade, not full Kalahari sun: the vinyl sits flatter and the glue cures better between 15°C and 25°C.
  3. Peel slowly, lay one edge down first, then smooth from the centre outwards with a cloth or squeegee to push out air bubbles.
  4. Press the reflective tape and ovals down hard for 30 seconds and leave them 24 hours before a wash or a long highway run.

Do not forget to carry

  • A fire extinguisher is compulsory in Zimbabwe (1 kg for a light vehicle).
  • Reflective warning triangles: two, and four when towing. Add a pair below.
  • Reflective safety vests: keep a set in the cab. Add them below.
  • Third-party insurance, road access fee, carbon tax and the Beitbridge exit pass are paid at the border. A police clearance for the vehicle and trailer is often asked for, especially at Chirundu.

Please read before you travel

This kit and guide are put together in good faith from current travel sources, but they are guidance, not legal advice.
